We at ILEFSA, Inc. take measures to verify age as well as provide the appropriate COPPA form for verification and consent from parents or guardians.
ILEFSA, Inc. can and will not be held responsible for any user who fraudulently provides false information about their age or parent/guardian consent, in order to gain access to the forum.
3. External links: Any services, offerings, or websites with links to or from our site or forum will most likely have their own privacy polices related to the collection and use of information. ILEFSA, Inc. does not have any control over the policies or practices of these sites or any sites linked to or from them; therefore we are not responsible for their practices or their content. 4. Information that we collect and how it may be used: ILEFSA, Inc. does collect and store some information from its members. This information is accessible only by the forum Administration.
a. Web server logs - When you visit our website and register/log on to our forum we retain the right to store and analyze the following information. This is a standard security practice amongst many forum and community web sites. - Your IP address.
- The web browser you are using.
- The pages/links you access within the site.
- The date, time and length of your visit.
- The name of your internet service provider.
- The website you accessed our site from.
b. Cookies - ILEFSA, Inc. uses cookies to store information on your local computer. These cookies are small text files that do not contain any personal information; they serve only to improve your experience on our website and forum. They enable features such as the storing of your logging in details or letting you know if you have visited a part of the site before. No personal information is collected through the use of cookies. They are not malicious or used to run programs or deliver viruses. We do not allow other companies to place cookies on our website unless it would be temporary and a value to our membership; if there is an instance of this you will be notified.
You have the control to accept or decline cookies within your web browser. Most browsers are set to automatically accept cookies. c. Personal Information and exceptions - Anybody in a relationship with or related to a law enforcement officer may register to become a member on our forum. When you register you will be asked to provide some personal information. There are various levels of membership, depending on which level of membership you are registering for will depend on the amount of information you will be asked to provide.
We will never intentionally make your profile or account settings available to non-members. Unless otherwise stated, only registered members have access to any of your profile details. While all reasonable efforts are made to ensure the security of this site, we will not accept any responsibility for data that is lost as a result of a hacking attempt or other breach of security.
We will not disclose the personal information we collect from you to third parties without your permission except to the extent necessary including but not limited to:
- To fulfill your requests for services.
- To protect ourselves from liability.
- To respond to legal process or comply with law, or
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or liquidation of the company.
5. Passwords: Passwords are encrypted in the site database. They cannot be retrieved by anyone, including the site Administrator and/or Webmaster. It is your responsibility to keep your password safe. If you forget your password you can reset it or request that it be reset and a new generic one sent to you. If you experience technical difficulty in the reset password feature please send Admin an email using the contact us form and they will reset it for you, you will then need to change your password as soon as you are able log back in.
6. Database: In order for this system to work, all your posts and other communications using this system have to be stored in a database. This database can only be accessed by the senior administrator. The private contents of the database will not be disclosed to anyone except to comply with a legal order.
7. Email accounts: ILEFSA, Inc. does require that you maintain a valid email address in your profile at all times for the purpose of validating and distinguishing active and abandoned accounts. Your email address does not have to be visible in your profile and at no time will we ever sell or pass on your email address to any third party. Accounts found without a valid email address will be considered abandoned and deleted.
From time to time administrators may find the need to send out email notifications. You may opt out of non-urgent notices via the user control panel at any time, however in the case of important “service” messages such as system updates or account validation messages, the admin may choose to override this option.
If you choose to send an email to another member, keep in mind that your email address will be visible to the member when they read the email.
8. Changes to this statement: At our discretion, as needed, ILEFSA, Inc. may occasionally update this privacy statement. When we do, we will also revise the date at the bottom of this policy page. We encourage you to periodically review this privacy statement on the website to stay informed about how we are helping to protect your personal information that we collect.
