ILEFSA, Inc. and COPS

ILEFSA, Inc. will donate any additional funds left in the general account the end of the fiscal year as well as all donations given to us that are directed to be donated specifically to COPS.

In 1984 C.O.P.S was organized with 110 members and now they have over 15,000 families as members. Members include spouses, children, parents, siblings, significant others, and affected co-workers of officers killed in the line of duty according to Federal government criteria. The membership is broad based so that they can help as many survivors as possible. With an estimated 140 to 160 officers killed in the line of duty every year the services that C.O.P.S offer has an outstanding impact on the lives of survivors.

C.O.P.S offer many programs to the families and departments devastated by an officer loss. These programs include National Police Survivors' Conference held each May during National Police Week, scholarships, peer-support at the national, state, and local levels, "C.O.P.S. Kids" counseling reimbursement program, the "C.O.P.S. Kids" Summer Camp, "C.O.P.S. Teens" Outward Bound experience for young adults, special retreats for spouses, parents, siblings, adult children, and in-laws, trial and parole support, and other assistance programs. As well as offering training and assistance to law enforcement agencies nationwide on how to respond to the tragic loss of a member of the law enforcement profession.
