Senior Administrator / Site Founder -
Hello my name is Erica, you will get to know me on here as "brownsugar" and occasionally you will see me logged in as "Admin" if I'm working on official site/forum business.
I am the founder and the senior administrator here at International Law Enforcement Family Support Association, Inc.
My husband and I have been married for almost 6 years, but together for a lifetime and have 5 children between the two of us. One of my good friends likes to say that we are the perfect riddle. We have 5 kids. I have 3 boys. He has 2 girls and 2 boys. Hmmmm.... LOL!! His 2 girls are 20 & 16; My son is 14; and our twin boys just turned 2. We are also parents to our wonderful fur baby, a 6 year old pit bull/yellow lab mix.
In my previous life I worked with the Information Technology department at a local high school, among other things I programmed the computer system that built the master class schedule, the teacher's schedules and student's schedules. I assisted with the development of an online parent/teacher conference scheduling system that is used in several schools throughout the state. I also sat on several committees within the school district, was the Co-President for the Union and held many committee positions within the local, state and national Union as well. I became a stay at home mom shortly before becoming pregnant with our twins. I created Arresting Hearts out of a need for a place where wives and girlfriends of Law Enforcement officers could come together for loving, welcoming support without judgment or prejudice. Just over a year later with the help of Kimber and Julie ILEFSA, Inc was born. Now when I am not chasing the twins around or being chased by them, you will find me here working on our site, posting, chatting with everybody, or making modifications or improvements. ILEFSA, Inc. is another child to me, I've put my heart into making this a warm and welcoming place for all of us who share in this amazing whirl wind of a lifestyle. I hope that you will find it a home away from home too!
My husband has been a police officer for 24 years now, 4 with the department that he started his career at and the rest of the time at his current department. He is a traffic officer and most of all loves the fact that he gets to ride a department issued Harley every spring, summer and fall. He is also an accident investigator and reconstructionist which means he gets those unforgiving late night call outs for fatal or near fatal accident; he is a DUI enforcement officer and DUI enforcement training officer, a field training officer, and used to be on the Mobile Field Force team; he also has a ton of other certifications that I can no longer keep track of. We've run quite the gamut with schools, training and experience with his career so far.
I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you here on ILEFSA. I hope that you find the support and friendship that you came here looking for.
I am always available by PM or email if you need to talk or have questions or concerns.

Senior Moderators -
My name is Kimberlee and I am very excited to be a Senior Moderator, the Canadian Administrator and the Fund Raising Chairperson for ILEFSA, Inc.
I have been a Vancouver Police wife for 17 years. My husband has worked in all sorts of different jobs within the department. Because of this, I come with a lot of experience in various situations as a wife and a main support for my husband.
I strongly feel that support groups like are so very important for both the Law Enforcement wives and their families. Here we reach out and get to know other ladies who live in the Law Enforcement world, but also use our experiences to support each other when in need.
I am especially concerned with "Rookie" wives who have not yet found their place in the the world of policing. Law Enforcement is not just a job its a whole lifestyle. I'm very proud to be part of it.
My name is Julie and I am so excited about the opportunity to support this organization. You’ll see me on the board as SwatWifey.
Although I may be young, I come with a lot of experience. I was a police cadet with our department for years, before quitting so I could date ‘the man’. I’ve known him since he was in the police academy (2001). I was actually in the police academy when we found out I was pregnant, so I dropped out to be a wifey and SAHM. We have two children, a girl and a boy, (almost) 4 and (almost) 2.
My husband is very goal-driven, and is a member of the SWAT team, Honor Guard, and K9 unit. (Bronx, the 5 year old Belgian Malinious/partner is the biggest pain in the butt of them all!) He is a Defensive Tactic/Weaponless Defense instructor and Cadet Advisor, and serves on various other committees within the department. He also likes to work nights, which is an adventure in itself...
We have traveled through the spectrum of emotions together, from devastation (losing a k9 partner, a baby, and being passed up for promotions) to elation (getting married, having 2 babies, getting a Life Saver award, being assigned to SWAT, K9, Honor Guard, and practically everything else.) Trust me when I say, I can relate to you!
I don’t care what anyone says, there is much hardship in a police marriage. What people on the outside just don’t understand is that the life isn’t all glamour and peace. It takes a lot to keep a police marriage going, and I believe that every woman needs a support structure.. I am hoping that ILEFSA can be that support for you, a place full of women who know, like you, what it’s like to be married to ‘the man’.
So sit down and pull up a keyboard. Come chat awhile. We can’t wait to meet you!

Membership Coordinators -
My name is Elizabeth and I am so excited to be apart of the staff for this site.
I have been married to my DH who is a Peace Officer for 11 years. It was always his dream to be an LEO and although it can be tough at times, I am glad to be a part of his dream.
I am a SAHM for 5 wonderful children. I have 2 sets of twins, so I don't get a whole lot of time to myself, but rest assured that I will make the time to be one of your Membership Coordinaters.
Hi, My name is Lindsay, also known as "lindsayg" around here! I'm very honored and proud to serve as one of the Membership Coordinators here!
I became a police wife 3 years ago to a PA State Trooper who has been on the job for 5 years now. Through his short five years he has had many awesome experiences and opportunities, including escorting former President Clinton, which we were very excited about! He has numerous trainings, specializing in drug interdiction and search warrants. His recent accomplishment is being a Field Sobriety Instructor.
Together, we have a very active but fun loving two year old boy, Brennan. He has truly been the light of our lives! Like Erica, we also have a four legged friend who thinks he's human. A completely wild and insane one year old English Setter named "Trooper" (after his Dad... corny I know!!). He's just like another son to us and I honestly feel that some days I am raising two two-year-olds. I worked as an EMT for our local ambulance company until I was 8 months pregnant then became a stay at home mom until Brennan was 18 months. During that time I attended school and became a Medical Assistant which is what I'm doing these days.
I am excited to be here and be a part of this support system. I truly enjoy being an LEO's wife and am so excited that something as little as that can be enough to create friendships of a lifetime!! ________________________________________________________________________
